Graduate Courses
The Molecular Genetics Graduate Program offers numerous courses for its students, and these, along with brief details of their content, are listed in the navigation pane to the left. Though there are a small number of courses required of all our students, most courses are "elective" and allow students to tailor their learning experience to their specific range of interests. There are additional specialist electives available with the College of Medicine that are not listed here. Specific details of our doctoral coursework requirements appear under the link to "Doctoral Program".
The Department recently received a Training Program award from the National Institutes of Health in the area of "Biological Threat Agents" to provide advanced instruction and practical experience with a wide range of potentially dangerous microorganisms - this innovative program awards fellowships at both the doctoral and postdoctoral level.
